John Shaqi

إِنَّمَا هِيَ الْمِدْحَةُ ثُمَّ الثَّنَاءُ ثُمَّ الْإِقْرَارُ بِالذَّنْبِ ثُمَّ الْمَسْأَلَةُ إِنَّهُ وَ اللَّهِ مَا خَرَجَ عَبْدٌ مِنْ ذَنْبٍ إِلَّا بِالْإِقْرَارِ .


Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from his father, from Ibn Sinan, from Muawiya Bin Ammar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘But rather, it is the eulogising, then the laudation, then the acknowledgement with the sins, then the asking. It is so, by Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, a servant will not come out from a sin except by the acknowledgement’.
