قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي جَعَلْتُ ثُلُثَ صَلَوَاتِي لَكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ خَيْراً فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي جَعَلْتُ نِصْفَ صَلَوَاتِي لَكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ ذَاكَ أَفْضَلُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي جَعَلْتُ كُلَّ صَلَوَاتِي لَكَ فَقَالَ إِذاً يَكْفِيَكَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَا أَهَمَّكَ مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَاكَ وَ آخِرَتِكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ كَيْفَ يَجْعَلُ صَلَاتَهُ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) لَا يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ شَيْئاً إِلَّا بَدَأَ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Murazim who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘A man came over to Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> and he said, ‘O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! I make my <span class="iTxt">Salawāt</span> to be for you<sup>saww</sup> a third (of the time I supplicate)’. So he<sup>saww</sup> said to him: ‘Good’. So he said, ‘O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! I make my <span class="iTxt">Salawāt</span> to be for you<sup>saww</sup> half (of the time I supplicate)’. So he<sup>saww</sup> said to him: ‘That is better’. So he said, ‘I make my <span class="iTxt">Salawāt</span> to be for you<sup>saww</sup>, every (time I supplicate)’. So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Then Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic would Suffice you from whatever worries you from the matters of your world and your Hereafter’. So a man said to him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, ‘May Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Keep you<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> well! How would he make his <span class="iTxt">Salawāt</span> to be for him<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>?’ So Abu Abdullah<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘He would not ask Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic for anything except he would begin with his <span class="iTxt">Salawāt</span> upon Muhammad<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> and his<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> Progeny<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>’.
