لَهُ يَا أَبَهْ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَنَامَ فَقَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ قُلْ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) عَبْدُهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ أَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَةِ اللَّهِ وَ أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللَّهِ وَ أَعُوذُ بِقُدْرَةِ اللَّهِ وَ أَعُوذُ بِجَلَالِ اللَّهِ وَ أَعُوذُ بِسُلْطَانِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ وَ أَعُوذُ بِعَفْوِ اللَّهِ وَ أَعُوذُ بِغُفْرَانِ اللَّهِ وَ أَعُوذُ بِرَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّ السَّامَّةِ وَ الْهَامَّةِ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ صَغِيرَةٍ أَوْ كَبِيرَةٍ بِلَيْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ فَسَقَةِ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ فَسَقَةِ الْعَرَبِ وَ الْعَجَمِ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ الصَّوَاعِقِ وَ الْبَرَدِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ فَيَقُولُ الصَّبِيُّ الطَّيِّبِ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِ النَّبِيِّ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا بُنَيَّ الطَّيِّبِ الْمُبَارَكِ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Muawiya Bin Wahab, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> that a son of his<sup>asws</sup> came over to him<sup>asws</sup> at night and said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘O father<sup>asws</sup>! I want to sleep’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O my<sup>asws</sup> son! Say, ‘I testify that there is no god except Allah<sup>azwj</sup> and that Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> is His<sup>azwj</sup> servant and His<sup>azwj</sup> Rasool<sup>saww</sup>. I seek Refuge with the Magnificence of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, and I seek Refuge with the Mighty of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, and I seek Refuge with the Power of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, and I seek Refuge with the Majesty of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, and I seek Refuge with the Authority of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> is Able over everything. And I seek Refuge with the Pardon of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>, and I seek Refuge with the Forgiveness of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>, and I seek Refuge from the evil of the venomous (creatures) and the insects, and from the evil of every animal, small or big, by the day or night, and from the evil of the mischief of the Jinn and the humans, and from the evil of the mischief of the Arabs and the non-Arabs, and from the evil of the thunderbolt and the cold. O Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>! Send Blessings upon Muhammad<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>, Your<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> servant and Your<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Rasool<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>’. Muawiya (the narrator) said, ‘So the child was saying, ‘Good’, during the mention of the Blessed Prophet<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>, he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘Good, Blessed’.
