جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي ذُو عِيَالٍ وَ عَلَيَّ دَيْنٌ وَ قَدِ اشْتَدَّتْ حَالِي فَعَلِّمْنِي دُعَاءً أَدْعُو اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِهِ لِيَرْزُقَنِي مَا أَقْضِي بِهِ دَيْنِي وَ أَسْتَعِينُ بِهِ عَلَى عِيَالِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ تَوَضَّأْ وَ أَسْبِغْ وُضُوءَكَ ثُمَّ صَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ تُتِمُّ الرُّكُوعَ وَ السُّجُودَ ثُمَّ قُلْ. يَا مَاجِدُ يَا وَاحِدُ يَا كَرِيمُ يَا دَائِمُ أَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّكَ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) يَا مُحَمَّدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ إِلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّكَ وَ رَبِّي وَ رَبِّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ وَ أَسْأَلُكَ نَفْحَةً كَرِيمَةً مِنْ نَفَحَاتِكَ وَ فَتْحاً يَسِيراً وَ رِزْقاً وَاسِعاً أَلُمُّ بِهِ شَعْثِي وَ أَقْضِي بِهِ دَيْنِي وَ أَسْتَعِينُ بِهِ عَلَى عِيَالِي
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Dawood, from Abu Hamza, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘A man came over to the Prophet<sup>saww</sup> and he said, ‘O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! I am with dependants and upon me are debts, and my situation has become difficult, therefore teach me a supplication, I can supplicate to Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic with it and plead to Him<sup>azwj</sup> to Grace me what I can fulfil my debts and assist upon my dependants with’. So Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘O servant of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! Perform ablution and perfect your ablution, then pray two Cycles of <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>, completing the Bowings and Prostrations, then say, ‘O Glorified, O One, O Benevolent, O Eternal! I divert towards You<sup>azwj</sup> by Muhammad<sup>saww</sup>, the Prophet<sup>saww</sup> of Mercy. O Muhammad<sup>saww</sup>, O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! I divert by you<sup>saww</sup> towards Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, your<sup>saww</sup> Lord<sup>azwj</sup> and my Lord<sup>azwj</sup>, and Lord<sup>azwj</sup> of everything, that You<sup>azwj</sup> Send <span class="iTxt">Salawāt</span> upon Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> and the People<sup>asws</sup> of his<sup>saww</sup> Household; and I ask You<sup>azwj</sup> for a Benevolent Grant from Your<sup>azwj</sup> Grants, and an easy breakthrough, and an extensive sustenance, I can gather my chaotic affairs with it, and fulfil my debts with it, and assist my dependants with it’.
