قُلْتُ لِلرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ ادْعُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَنْ يَرْزُقَنِيَ الْحَلَالَ فَقَالَ أَ تَدْرِي مَا الْحَلَالُ قُلْتُ الَّذِي عِنْدَنَا الْكَسْبُ الطَّيِّبُ فَقَالَ كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ الْحَلَالُ هُوَ قُوتُ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ثُمَّ قَالَ قُلْ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ الْوَاسِعِ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr who said, ‘I said to Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup>, ‘May I be sacrificed for you<sup>asws</sup>! Supplicate to Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic that He<sup>azwj</sup> should Grace me the Permissibles sustenance’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Do you know what is the Permissible?’ I said, ‘That which is with us, the goodly earnings’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Ali Bin Al-Husayn<sup>asws</sup> was saying: ‘The Permissible, it is the subsistenance of the Chosen ones’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Say, ‘I ask You<sup>azwj</sup> from Your<sup>azwj</sup> Extensive sustenance’’.
