قَالَ لِي أَ لَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً تَدْعُو بِهِ إِنَّا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ إِذَا كَرَبَنَا أَمْرٌ وَ تَخَوَّفْنَا مِنَ السُّلْطَانِ أَمْراً لَا قِبَلَ لَنَا بِهِ نَدْعُو بِهِ قُلْتُ بَلَى بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أُمِّي يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْ يَا كَائِناً قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَ يَا مُكَوِّنَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَ يَا بَاقِي بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ افْعَلْ بِي كَذَا وَ كَذَا .
Translation
From him, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Umar Bin Abdul Aziz, from Ahmad Bin Abu Dawood, from Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘He<sup>asws</sup> said to me: ‘Shall I<sup>asws</sup> teach you a supplication you can supplicate with, which we<sup>asws</sup>, the People<sup>asws</sup> of the Household tend to supplicate with whenever a matter worries us<sup>asws</sup> and we<sup>asws</sup> fear from the ruling authorities of a matter we<sup>asws</sup> cannot face with, we<sup>asws</sup> supplicate with it?’ I said, ‘Yes, may my father and my mother be (sacrificed) for you<sup>asws</sup>, O son<sup>asws</sup> of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>!’ He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘Say, ‘O the One who existed before everything, and O the One Who Brought everything into being, and O the One Who would be Remaining after everything! Send <span class="iTxt">Salawāt</span> upon Muhammad<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> and the Progeny<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> of Muhammad<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>, and Do for me such and such’’.
