سَمِعْتُ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) يَا عَلِيُّ أَ لَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا وَقَعْتَ فِي وَرْطَةٍ أَوْ بَلِيَّةٍ فَقُلْ. بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَصْرِفُ بِهَا عَنْكَ مَا يَشَاءُ مِنْ أَنْوَاعِ الْبَلَاءِ
Translation
Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Salim, from Ahmad Bin Al Nazar, from Umro Bin Shimr, from Yazeed Bin Murra, from Bukeyr who said, ‘I heard Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said to me: ‘O Ali<sup>asws</sup>! Shall<sup>saww</sup> let you<sup>asws</sup> know of certain words? Whenever you<sup>asws</sup> fall into a predicament or an affliction, so say: ‘In the Name of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> the Beneficent, the Merciful, and there is neither Might nor Strength except with Allah<sup>azwj</sup> the Exalted, the Magnificent’, for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic would Exchange it from you<sup>asws</sup> by it, whatever He<sup>azwj</sup> so Desires from a variety of afflictions’.
