سَمِعْتُ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ أَثْلَاثاً ثُلُثٌ فِينَا وَ فِي عَدُوِّنَا وَ ثُلُثٌ سُنَنٌ وَ أَمْثَالٌ وَ ثُلُثٌ فَرَائِضُ وَ أَحْكَامٌ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad and Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, altogether from Ibn Mahboub, from Abu Hamza, from Abu Yahya, (It has been narrated) from Al-Asbagh Bin Nubata who said, ‘I heard Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘The Quran was Revealed in three (parts) – one-third is regarding us<sup>asws</sup> and our<sup>asws</sup> enemies, and one-third is about the Sunnah and examples, and one-third is about Impositions and the regulations’.
