ابو علی الاشعری نے محمد بن عبد الجبار اور محمد بن اسماعیل سے، انہوں نے فضل بن شاذان سے — سب نے صفوان بن یحییٰ سے، انہوں نے ابو اسامہ زید الشحام سے روایت کی جنہوں نے کہا: ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے مجھ سے فرمایا: 'ان میں سے جنہیں تم دیکھو کہ وہ میری اطاعت کرتے ہیں اور میری بات مانتے ہیں، انہیں میرا سلام پہنچاؤ۔ اور میں تمہیں اللہ عزوجل کے تقویٰ کی، اپنے دین میں ورع کی، اللہ کے لیے محنت و کوشش کی، سچی بات کہنے کی، امانت ادا کرنے کی، طویل سجدے کی اور اچھے پڑوس کی وصیت کرتا ہوں۔ کیونکہ محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ اسی کے ساتھ آئے۔ جس نے بھی تمہارے پاس امانت رکھی ہو اسے لوٹاؤ، چاہے وہ نیک ہو یا فاجر، کیونکہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ دھاگہ اور سوئی تک لوٹانے کا حکم دیتے تھے۔ اپنے رشتہ داروں سے صلہ رحمی کرو، ان کے جنازوں میں شریک ہو، ان کے مریضوں کی عیادت کرو اور ان کے حقوق ادا کرو۔ کیونکہ جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص اپنے دین میں پرہیزگار ہو، بات میں سچا ہو، امانت ادا کرے اور لوگوں کے ساتھ اچھے اخلاق والا ہو تو کہا جاتا ہے: یہ جعفری ہے — اور یہ مجھے خوش کرتا ہے اور اس سے مجھے مسرت ہوتی ہے اور کہا جاتا ہے: یہ جعفر کا ادب ہے۔ لیکن جب وہ اس کے خلاف ہو تو اس کی مصیبت اور شرمندگی مجھ پر آتی ہے اور کہا جاتا ہے: یہ جعفر کا ادب ہے۔ اللہ کی قسم! میرے والد علیہ السلام نے مجھے بتایا کہ علی علیہ السلام کے شیعوں میں سے کوئی شخص کسی قبیلے میں ہوتا تھا تو وہ اس قبیلے کی زینت ہوتا — سب سے زیادہ امانت دار، سب سے زیادہ حقوق ادا کرنے والا اور سب سے سچا۔ لوگ اس کے پاس اپنی وصیتیں اور امانتیں رکھتے تھے۔ قبیلے سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا جاتا تو وہ کہتے: فلاں جیسا کون ہے؟ وہ ہم سب سے زیادہ امانت دار اور سب سے زیادہ سچا ہے۔

Translation

Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazan, altogether from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Abu Asama Zayd Al Shahaam who said, ‘Abu Abdullah^asws said to me: ‘Convey the greeting upon the ones from them whom you view that they would obey me^asws and take to my^asws words, and I^asws advise you all with the fear of Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic, and the devoutness in your Religion, and the striving for Allah^azwj, and truthfulness of narrations, and paying back the entrustment, and the prolonging of the Sajdah, and goodly neighbourliness. It is by this that Muhammad^saww came with – paying the entrustments to the ones who entrusted him^saww upon it, be he righteous or immoral. It was so that Rasool-Allah^saww used to order with (even) the giving back of the thread and the needle. Help your relatives and attend their funerals, and console their sick ones, and fulfil their rights, for the man from you, when he is devout in his Religion, and truthful in the narrations, and pays back the entrustments, and is of goodly mannerisms along with the people, it would be said, ‘This is a Ja’fary’, so that would cheer me^asws up, and the happiness from it would enter upom me^asws, and it would be said, ‘This is the education of Ja’far^asws’. And when he was upon other than that, its agony and its reproach would enter upon me^asws, and it would be said, ‘This is the education of Ja’far^asws’. By Allah^azwj! My^asws father^asws narrated to me^asws that there happened to be a man in the tribe from the Shias of Ali^asws, so his quality was that he was the best of them in paying back entrustments, and the most fulfilling them of the rights, and the most truthful of them of the narrations. It is to him that they (people) used to keep their bequests and their deposits. The clan was asked about him, so they said, ‘Who can be like so and so? He is the best of us in paying back the entrustment and the most truthful of us for the narrations’.
