John Shaqi

سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا يَسْأَلُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَقُولُ أَوَدُّكَ فَكَيْفَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ يَوَدُّنِي فَقَالَ امْتَحِنْ قَلْبَكَ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَوَدُّهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَوَدُّكَ .


Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ismail Bin Mihran, from Al Hassan Bin Yusuf, from Zakariyya Bin Muhammad, from Salih Bin Al Hakam who said, ‘I heard a man asking Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying, ‘The man is saying that he likes me, so how do I know that he does like me?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Test your heart. So if there is liking him, so he likes you’.
