سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الْحِيَاضِ الَّتِي بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَ الْمَدِينَةِ تَرِدُهَا السِّبَاعُ وَ تَلَغُ فِيهَا الْكِلَابُ وَ يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهَا الْجُنُبُ أَ يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهَا قَالَ وَ كَمْ قَدْرُ الْمَاءِ قُلْتُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ وَ إِلَى الرُّكْبَةِ وَ أَقَلَّ قَالَ تَوَضَّأْ .

میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے ان حوضوں کے بارے میں پوچھا جو مکہ اور مدینہ کے درمیان ہیں — ان پر درندے آتے ہیں، کتے ان میں چاٹتے ہیں، اور جنبی ان میں غسل کرتا ہے — کیا ان سے وضو کیا جا سکتا ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: پانی کی مقدار کتنی ہے؟ میں نے کہا: آدھی پنڈلی تک اور گھٹنے تک، اور اس سے بھی کم۔ آپ نے فرمایا: وضو کرو۔
Translation
Ali Bin Muhammad, from Sahl, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, from Safwan Al Jammal who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the fountains which are between Makkah and Al-Medina deteriorated by the wild animals, and the dogs lick in it, and the sexually impure man washes from it, can one perform Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span> from it?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And how much is its measurement?’ I said, ‘Up to half the leg and up to the knees, and less’. He<sup>asws</sup> Said: ‘Perform Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span>’.
