قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَثَرْتُ فَانْقَطَعَ ظُفُرِي فَجَعَلْتُ عَلَى إِصْبَعِي مَرَارَةً فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِالْوُضُوءِ قَالَ يُعْرَفُ هَذَا وَ أَشْبَاهُهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ ما جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ امْسَحْ عَلَيْهِ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Ali Bin Al Hassan Bin Rabaat, from Abdul A’ala, a slave of the family of Saam who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘I stumbled, and my nail got cut. So I made ointment to be upon my toe. How should I deal with the Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Recognise this and it’s like from the Book of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:22#h78"><a href="/books/quran:22#h78">[22:78]</a></a> He has not Laid upon you a hardship in the Religion</span>. Wipe over it’.
