اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ ما كانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْماً بَعْدَ إِذْ هَداهُمْ حَتَّى يُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ ما يَتَّقُونَ قَالَ حَتَّى يُعَرِّفَهُمْ مَا يُرْضِيهِ وَ مَا يُسْخِطُهُ وَ قَالَ فَأَلْهَمَها فُجُورَها وَ تَقْواها قَالَ بَيَّنَ لَهَا مَا تَأْتِي وَ مَا تَتْرُكُ وَ قَالَ إِنَّا هَدَيْناهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شاكِراً وَ إِمَّا كَفُوراً قَالَ عَرَّفْنَاهُ إِمَّا آخِذٌ وَ إِمَّا تَارِكٌ وَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ وَ أَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْناهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا الْعَمى عَلَى الْهُدى قَالَ عَرَّفْنَاهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا الْعَمَى عَلَى الْهُدَى وَ هُمْ يَعْرِفُونَ وَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ بَيَّنَّا لَهُمْ .

ہمارے کئی اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد بن خالد سے، انہوں نے ابن فضال سے، انہوں نے ثعلبہ بن میمون سے، انہوں نے حمزہ بن محمد الطیار سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی: اللہ عزوجل کے اس قول کے بارے میں: 'اللہ کی شان نہیں کہ وہ کسی قوم کو ہدایت دینے کے بعد گمراہ کرے، یہاں تک کہ وہ انہیں وہ باتیں واضح کردے جن سے انہیں پرہیز کرنا چاہیے' [9:115] آپ نے فرمایا: 'یہاں تک کہ وہ انہیں بتائے کہ اسے کیا پسند ہے اور کیا ناپسند۔' اور انہوں نے کہا: '(یہ کیا ہے) پھر اس نے اسے اس کی بدکاری اور پرہیزگاری کا الہام کیا [91:8]؟' آپ نے فرمایا: 'اس نے اسے واضح کیا کہ کیا کرنا ہے اور کیا چھوڑنا ہے۔' اور انہوں نے کہا: '(یہ کیا ہے) بے شک ہم نے اسے راستہ دکھا دیا، خواہ وہ شکرگزار ہو یا ناشکرا [76:3]؟' آپ نے فرمایا: 'ہم نے اسے پہچنوا دیا، یا تو وہ قبول کرے یا چھوڑ دے۔' اور اللہ کے اس قول کے بارے میں: 'اور جہاں تک ثمود کا تعلق ہے، ہم نے انہیں ہدایت دی لیکن انہوں نے اندھے پن کو ہدایت پر ترجیح دی' [41:17] آپ نے فرمایا: 'ہم نے انہیں پہچنوایا، لیکن انہوں نے جانتے بوجھتے اندھے پن کو ہدایت پر ترجیح دی۔' اور ایک روایت میں: 'ہم نے انہیں واضح کر دیا۔'
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ibn Fazzal, from Sa’alba Bin Maymoun, from Hamza Bin Muhammad Al Tayyar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> regarding the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:9#h115"><a href="/books/quran:9#h115">[9:115]</a></a> It was not for Allah that He should Lead a people astray after He has Guided them; until He Clarifies to them what they should guard against</span>. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Until He<sup>azwj</sup> has Introduced to them what Pleases Him<sup>azwj</sup> and what Angers Him<sup>azwj</sup>’. And he (the narrator) said, ‘(What about) <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:91#h8"><a href="/books/quran:91#h8">[91:8]</a></a> Then He inspired it to understand its immorality and its piety</span>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Clarified to it what you should be coming to and what you should neglect’. And he (the narrator) said, ‘(What about) <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:76#h3"><a href="/books/quran:76#h3">[76:3]</a></a> Surely, We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful</span>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Made him (human being) recognise it, either he takes it or he leaves it’. And about His<sup>azwj</sup> Words <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:41#h17"><a href="/books/quran:41#h17">[41:17]</a></a> And as to Samood, We Guided them but they chose blindness over the Guidance</span>, (he<sup>asws</sup> said): ‘And they were recognising’. And in a report, ‘(He<sup>asws</sup> said): ‘It was clarified to them’.
