ابو علی الاشعری، محمد بن حسان سے، محمد بن علی سے، محمد بن الفضیل سے، ابو حمزہ سے، ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ایک رات کا بخار ایک سال کی عبادت کے برابر ہے، دو راتوں کا بخار دو سال کی عبادت کے برابر ہے، اور تین راتوں کا بخار ستر سال کی عبادت کے برابر ہے۔ راوی نے کہا: میں نے عرض کیا، اگر وہ ستر سال کی عمر کو نہ پہنچے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: تو یہ اس کی ماں اور باپ کے لیے ہوگا۔ میں نے کہا، اگر وہ دونوں بھی نہ پہنچیں؟ فرمایا: تو اس کے رشتہ داروں کے لیے۔ میں نے کہا، اگر اس کے رشتہ دار بھی نہ پہنچیں؟ فرمایا: تو پھر اس کے پڑوسیوں کے لیے۔

Translation

Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Hassan, from Muhammad Bin Ali, from Muhammad Bin Al Fuzayl, from Abu Hamza, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far^asws having said: ‘Fever for a night equates to worship for a year, and fever for two nights equates to worship for two years, and fever for three (nights) equates to worship for seventy years’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘Supposing he does not reach (to the age of) seventy years?’ He^asws said: ‘So it would be for his mother and his father’. I said, ‘Supposing they both don’t reach (to that)’. He^asws said: ‘So it would be for his relatives’. I said, ‘Supposing his relatives don’t reach to that?’ He^asws said: ‘So it would be for his neighbours’.
