لَا عِيَادَةَ فِي وَجَعِ الْعَيْنِ وَ لَا تَكُونُ عِيَادَةٌ فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ فَيَوْمٌ وَ يَوْمٌ لَا فَإِذَا طَالَتِ الْعِلَّةُ تُرِكَ الْمَرِيضُ وَ عِيَالَهُ .

ہمارے کچھ اصحاب نے سہل بن زیاد سے، انہوں نے علی بن اسباط سے، انہوں نے ان کے بعض اصحاب سے، انہوں نے ابی عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: آنکھ کے درد میں عیادت نہیں ہے، اور عیادت تین دن سے کم میں نہیں ہوتی۔ جب واجب ہو جائے تو ایک دن (عیادت کرے) اور ایک دن نہ کرے۔ جب بیماری لمبی ہو جائے تو مریض اور اس کے عیال پر چھوڑ دیا جائے۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ali Bin Asbaat, from one of his companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘There is no visiting regarding the eye sores, and a visitation does not happen to be in less than three days. So when it necessitates, so one day, and one day not (every other day). So when the illness gets prolonged, leave the patient and his family (to look after him)’.
