قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنِّي كُنْتُ أُمَهِّدُ لِأَبِي فِرَاشَهُ فَأَنْتَظِرُهُ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ فَإِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ وَ نَامَ قُمْتُ إِلَى فِرَاشِي وَ إِنَّهُ أَبْطَأَ عَلَيَّ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَأَتَيْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فِي طَلَبِهِ وَ ذَلِكَ بَعْدَ مَا هَدَأَ النَّاسُ فَإِذَا هُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ سَاجِدٌ وَ لَيْسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ غَيْرُهُ فَسَمِعْتُ حَنِينَهُ وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي حَقّاً حَقّاً سَجَدْتُ لَكَ يَا رَبِّ تَعَبُّداً وَ رِقّاً اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ عَمَلِي ضَعِيفٌ فَضَاعِفْهُ لِي اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ وَ تُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ .
Translation
Ahmad Bin Idrees, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Is’haq Bin Ammar who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said to me: ‘I<sup>asws</sup> used to even out the bed for my<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> until he<sup>asws</sup> would come. So when he<sup>asws</sup> would lie down upon his<sup>asws</sup> bed and sleep, I<sup>asws</sup> would arise to go to my<sup>asws</sup> own bed. One night he<sup>asws</sup> was delayed, so I<sup>asws</sup> went over to the Masjid seeking him<sup>asws</sup>, and that was after the people had dispersed. So there he<sup>asws</sup> was in the Masjid, prostrating, and there was no one in the Masjid apart from him<sup>asws</sup>, and I<sup>asws</sup> heard his<sup>asws</sup> yearning and he<sup>asws</sup> was saying: ‘O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! You<sup>azwj</sup> are my Lord<sup>azwj</sup>, truly, truly. I<sup>asws</sup> am prostrating to You<sup>azwj</sup>, O Lord<sup>azwj</sup>, as a servant and a slave. O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! My<sup>asws</sup> deeds are weak, so Increase these for me<sup>asws</sup>. O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! Save me<sup>asws</sup> (my<sup>asws</sup> Shias) from Your<sup>azwj</sup> Punishment on the Day You<sup>azwj</sup> will be Resurrecting Your<sup>azwj</sup> servants, and Turn towards me (with Mercy) for You<sup>azwj</sup> are the Oft-Turning, Merciful’.
