شَكَوْتُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) تَفَرُّقَ أَمْوَالِنَا وَ مَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِالدُّعَاءِ وَ أَنْتَ سَاجِدٌ فَإِنَّ أَقْرَبَ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَ هُوَ سَاجِدٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَأَدْعُو فِي الْفَرِيضَةِ وَ أُسَمِّي حَاجَتِي فَقَالَ نَعَمْ قَدْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَدَعَا عَلَى قَوْمٍ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ وَ أَسْمَاءِ آبَائِهِمْ وَ فَعَلَهُ عَلِيٌّ ( عليه السلام ) بَعْدَهُ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Hajjal, from Abdullah Bin Muhammad, from Sa’albat Bin Maymoun, from Abdullah Bin Hilal who said, ‘I complained to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> of the separation of our wealth and what had entered upon us (as a result of it)’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It is upon you with the supplication while you are prostrating, for the closest of what the servant can happen to be to Allah<sup>azwj</sup> is when he is prostrating’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘So shall I supplicate during the Obligatory (<span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>) and specify my need?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes. Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> had done that, and he<sup>saww</sup> supplicated against a people with their names and the names of their fathers; and Ali<sup>asws</sup> did so after him<sup>saww</sup>’.
