Al-Kafi 5068

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Giyas Bin Ibrahim, (It has been narrated) from Ja’far^asws, from his^asws father^asws, from Ali^asws having said: ‘The man cannot perform <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span> upon anything which the rest of his body is not upon’.<a id="_ftnref1256"></a>^[1256] (p.s. – According to a footnote, this Hadeeth is in dissimulation) Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from Fazalat, from Aban, from Abdul Rahman Bin Abu Abdullah, from Humran, (It has been narrated) from one of the two (5^th or 6^th Imam^asws having said: ‘My^asws father^asws used to pray upon the ‘Khumra’ (a small piece of flax to perform <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span> upon), making it to be upon the carpet, and he^asws would perform <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span> upon it. So when there did not happen to be a ‘Khumra’ (a small piece of flax to perform <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span> upon), he^asws would make pebbles to be upon the carpet where he^asws perform <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span>’.
