سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ فَقَالَ فِيمَا يُجْهَرُ فِيهِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ أَبَاكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ فِي الْخَمْسِ كُلِّهَا فَقَالَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ أَبِي إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ أَبِي أَتَوْهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ ثُمَّ أَتَوْنِي شُكَّاكاً فَأَفْتَيْتُهُمْ بِالتَّقِيَّةِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Fazzal, from Ibn Bukeyr, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the <span class="iTxt">Qunut</span>, so he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘In what you have to be loud with the recitation’. So I said, ‘I asked your<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> about that, so he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘In the five (Obligatory) <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>, all of them’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘May Allah<sup>azwj</sup> have Mercy on my<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup>. The companions of my<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> came to him<sup>asws</sup> and asked him<sup>asws</sup>, so he<sup>asws</sup> informed them with the truth. Then they come to me<sup>asws</sup> as doubtful, so I<sup>asws</sup> issued a Fatwa to them with ‘بِالتَّقِيَّةِ’ the dissimulation’.
