إِنَّ فَضْلَ الدُّعَاءِ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ عَلَى الدُّعَاءِ بَعْدَ النَّافِلَةِ كَفَضْلِ الْفَرِيضَةِ عَلَى النَّافِلَةِ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ ادْعُهْ وَ لَا تَقُلْ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَإِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ داخِرِينَ وَ قَالَ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ وَ قَالَ إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَدْعُوَ اللَّهَ فَمَجِّدْهُ وَ احْمَدْهُ وَ سَبِّحْهُ وَ هَلِّلْهُ وَ أَثْنِ عَلَيْهِ وَ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) ثُمَّ سَلْ تُعْطَ .
Translation
Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Washa, from Aban Bin Usman, from Al Hassan Bin Al Mugheira that, ‘He heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘The superiority of the supplication after the Obligatory (<span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>) over the supplication after the optional (<span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>), is like the superiority of the Obligatory (<span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>) over the optional (<span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>)’. He (the narrator) said, ‘Then he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Supplicate to Him<sup>azwj</sup> and do not say that you are free from the matter, for the supplication, it is the worship. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic is Saying <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:40#h60"><a href="/books/quran:40#h60">[40:60]</a></a> surely those who are too proud to worship Me shall soon enter Hell abased</span>, and Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:40#h60"><a href="/books/quran:40#h60">[40:60]</a></a> Call upon Me, I will Answer you</span>. And he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Whenever you intend to Supplicate to Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, so Praise Him<sup>azwj</sup>, and Glorify Him<sup>azwj</sup>, and Extol His<sup>azwj</sup> Holiness, and Laud upon Him<sup>azwj</sup>, and send Blessings upon the Prophet<sup>azwj</sup>. Then ask, you would be Given’.
