سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَكُونُ فِي الْبَادِيَةِ وَ مَعِي أَهْلِي وَ وُلْدِي وَ غِلْمَتِي فَأُؤَذِّنُ وَ أُقِيمُ وَ أُصَلِّي بِهِمْ أَ فَجَمَاعَةٌ نَحْنُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْغِلْمَةَ يَتْبَعُونَ قَطْرَ السَّحَابِ وَ أَبْقَى أَنَا وَ أَهْلِي وَ وُلْدِي فَأُؤَذِّنُ وَ أُقِيمُ وَ أُصَلِّي بِهِمْ فَجَمَاعَةٌ نَحْنُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ وُلْدِي يَتَفَرَّقُونَ فِي الْمَاشِيَةِ وَ أَبْقَى أَنَا وَ أَهْلِي فَأُؤَذِّنُ وَ أُقِيمُ وَ أُصَلِّي بِهِمْ أَ فَجَمَاعَةٌ أَنَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ تَذْهَبُ فِي مَصْلَحَتِهَا فَأَبْقَى أَنَا وَحْدِي فَأُؤَذِّنُ وَ أُقِيمُ فَأُصَلِّي أَ فَجَمَاعَةٌ أَنَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ الْمُؤْمِنُ وَحْدَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ .
Translation
A group, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from Hammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Yusuf, from his father who said, ‘I heard Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘Al-Juhanny came over to the Prophet<sup>saww</sup> and he said, ‘O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! I happen to be in the valleys, and with me is my wife and my children and my slaves. So I recite the <span class="iTxt">Azan</span> and an <span class="iTxt">Iqamah</span> and I pray <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> with them. So are we a <span class="iTxt">Jam’at</span>?’ So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Yes’. So he said, ‘O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! The slaves follow the drops of the clouds and there remains myself and my wife and my children. So I recite <span class="iTxt">Azan</span> and an <span class="iTxt">Iqamah</span> and I pray <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> with them. So am I in a <span class="iTxt">Jam’at</span>?’ So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Yes’. So he said, ‘O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! The wife goes regarding her convenience, so there remains myself alone. So I recite an <span class="iTxt">Azan</span> and an <span class="iTxt">Iqamah</span>, so I pray <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>. Am I a <span class="iTxt">Jam’at</span>?’ So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Yes. The Believer alone is a <span class="iTxt">Jam’at</span>’.
