الحسین بن محمد، معلیٰ بن محمد سے، محمد بن جمہور سے، حماد بن عیسیٰ سے، عبد المؤمن سے، سالم سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے اللہ عز و جل کے اس قول کے بارے میں پوچھا: پھر ہم نے کتاب کو اپنے ان بندوں کا وارث بنایا جنہیں ہم نے چن لیا تھا؛ پس ان میں سے کچھ وہ ہیں جو اپنے نفس پر ظلم کرتے ہیں، اور ان میں سے کچھ میانہ رو ہیں، اور ان میں سے کچھ اللہ کے اذن سے نیکیوں میں سبقت لے جانے والے ہیں۔ آپ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: "نیکیوں میں سبقت لے جانے والا امام ہے، میانہ رو وہ ہے جو امام کو پہچانتا ہے، اور اپنے نفس پر ظلم کرنے والا وہ ہے جو امام کو نہیں پہچانتا۔"

Translation

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour, from Hammad Bin Isa, from Abdul Momin, from Salim who said, ‘I asked Abu Ja’far^asws about the Words of Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:35#h32"><a href="/books/quran:35#h32">[35:32]</a></a> Then We Gave the Book as an inheritance to those whom We Chose from among Our servants; but from them is he who unjust to his own self, and of them is he who is moderate, and of them is he who is foremost in deeds of goodness</span>. He^asws said: ‘The one <span class="ibTxt">who is foremost in deeds of goodness</span> is the Imam^asws, and the <span class="ibTxt">who is moderate</span> is the recogniser of the Imam^asws, and the one <span class="ibTxt">unjust to his own self</span> is the one who does not recognise the Imam^asws’.
