John Shaqi

قَالَ فِي صَلَاةِ الشُّكْرِ إِذَا أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ بِنِعْمَةٍ فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ تَقْرَأُ فِي الْأُولَى بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَ تَقْرَأُ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ تَقُولُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى فِي رُكُوعِكَ وَ سُجُودِكَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ شُكْراً شُكْراً وَ حَمْداً وَ تَقُولُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فِي رُكُوعِكَ وَ سُجُودِكَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي اسْتَجَابَ دُعَائِي وَ أَعْطَانِي مَسْأَلَتِي.


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Abu Ismail Al-Sarraj, from Haroun Bin Kharijat, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said regarding ‘صَلَاةِ الشُّكْرِ’ the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> of gratefulness: ‘Whenever Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Favours upon you with a Bounty, so pray two Rak’at of <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>, reciting in the first with the Opening of the Book (Chapter 1) and <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:112#h1"><a href="/books/quran:112#h1">[112:1]</a></a> Say He Allah is One</span> (Chapter 112); and recite in the second with the Opening of the Book (Chapter 1) and <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:109#h1"><a href="/books/quran:109#h1">[109:1]</a></a> Say: O you unbelievers!</span> Chapter 109); and you should be saying in the first Rak’at during your <span class="iTxt">Rukū</span> and your <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span>, ‘The Praise for Allah<sup>azwj</sup>. Thanks! Thanks and Praise!’; and you should be saying in the second Rak’at during your <span class="iTxt">Rukū</span> and your <span class="iTxt">Sajdah</span>, ‘The Praise is for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Whom Answered my supplication and Gave me what I asked for’’.
