John Shaqi

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ مَنْ مَنَعَ الزَّكَاةَ سَأَلَ الرَّجْعَةَ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَ هُوَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ. لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صالِحاً فِيما تَرَكْتُ .


Translation

Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Husayn, from Wuheyb Bin Hafs, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘The one who prevents the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> would ask to be return during death, and these are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:23#h99"><a href="/books/quran:23#h99">[23:99]</a></a> Lord, send me back <a href="/#/books/quran:23#h100"><a href="/books/quran:23#h100">[23:100]</a></a> Perhaps I may do righteous deeds which I had neglected</span>’.
