John Shaqi

كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ( صلوات الله عليه ) إِذَا بَعَثَ مُصَدِّقَهُ قَالَ لَهُ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ عَلَى رَبِّ الْمَالِ فَقُلْ لَهُ تَصَدَّقْ رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ مِمَّا أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ فَإِنْ وَلَّى عَنْكَ فَلَا تُرَاجِعْهُ .


Translation

A number of our companiond, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Giyas Bin Ibrahim, (It has been narrated) from Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, from his<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘It was so that whenever Ali<sup>asws</sup> sent a <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> collector, he<sup>asws</sup> said to him: ‘When you go over to a lord of the wealth, so say to him, ‘Give charity (<span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span>), may Allah<sup>azwj</sup> have Mercy on you, from what Allah<sup>azwj</sup> has Given to you’. But, if he turn around from you (refuses), so do not return (ask again)’.
