خَمْسَةٌ لَا يُعْطَوْنَ مِنَ الزَّكَاةِ شَيْئاً الْأَبُ وَ الْأُمُّ وَ الْوَلَدُ وَ الْمَمْلُوكُ وَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَ ذَلِكَ أَنَّهُمْ عِيَالُهُ لَازِمُونَ لَهُ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Abdul Rahman Bin Al Hajjaj, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Five should not be given anything from the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> – The father, and the mother, and the children, and the owned slavers, and the wife – and that is because they are his dependants, hanging on to him’.
