John Shaqi

قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) لَأَنْ أَدْخُلَ السُّوقَ وَ مَعِي دَرَاهِمُ أَبْتَاعُ بِهِ لِعِيَالِي لَحْماً وَ قَدْ قَرِمُوا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُعْتِقَ نَسَمَةً .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from sayf Bin Ameyra, from Abu Hama who said, ‘Ali<sup>asws</sup> Bin Al-Husayn<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If I<sup>asws</sup> were to enter the market and with me<sup>asws</sup> was one Dirham to buy meat with it for my<sup>asws</sup> dependants and they had desired it, it would be more beloved to me<sup>asws</sup> than if I<sup>asws</sup> were to emancipate (liberate) a person’.
