John Shaqi

إِذَا أَعْطَيْتُمُوهُمْ فَلَقِّنُوهُمُ الدُّعَاءَ فَإِنَّهُ يُسْتَجَابُ الدُّعَاءُ لَهُمْ فِيكُمْ وَ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ .


Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, and someone else, from Ziyad Al Qindy, from the one who mentioned it, ‘He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When you give them, so ask them for the supplication, for the supplication is Answered for them regarding you, and it does not get Answered regarding their own selves’ (as they are professional/habitual beggars).
