أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) وَفْدٌ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ وَ فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ كَانَ أَعْظَمَهُمْ كَلَاماً وَ أَشَدَّهُمْ اسْتِقْصَاءً فِي مُحَاجَّةِ النَّبِيِّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَغَضِبَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) حَتَّى الْتَوَى عِرْقُ الْغَضَبِ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَ تَرَبَّدَ وَجْهُهُ وَ أَطْرَقَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَأَتَاهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ ( عليه السلام ) فَقَالَ رَبُّكَ يُقْرِئُكَ السَّلَامَ وَ يَقُولُ لَكَ هَذَا رَجُلٌ سَخِيٌّ يُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ فَسَكَنَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) الْغَضَبُ وَ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ وَ قَالَ لَهُ لَوْ لَا أَنَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَنِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَنَّكَ سَخِيٌّ تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ لَشَرَدْتُ بِكَ وَ جَعَلْتُكَ حَدِيثاً لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ وَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيُحِبُّ السَّخَاءَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَ الَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا رَدَدْتُ مِنْ مَالِي أَحَداً .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Al Husayn Bin Abu Saeed Al Mukary, from a man, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘There came to Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> a delegation from Al-Yemen, and among them was a man who was their greatest speaker, and the most intense of interrogation in argumentation with the Prophet<sup>saww</sup>. So the Prophet<sup>saww</sup> got angered until a ‘vein of the tension’ strained between his<sup>saww</sup> eyes, and his<sup>saww</sup> face glowered, and looked down to the ground. So Jibraeel<sup>as</sup> came unto him<sup>saww</sup> and said: ‘Your<sup>saww</sup> Lord<sup>azwj</sup> Conveys His<sup>azwj</sup> Greeting and is Saying to you<sup>saww</sup>: “This is a generous man. He feeds the food”’. So the ‘الْغَضَبُ’ subsided from the Prophet<sup>saww</sup>, and he<sup>saww</sup> raised his<sup>saww</sup> head and said to him: ‘Had Jibraeel<sup>as</sup> not informed me<sup>saww</sup> from Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic that you are a generous one, feeding the food, I<sup>saww</sup> would have expelled you and made you as a discussion for the ones behind you’. So the man said to him<sup>saww</sup>, ‘And your<sup>saww</sup> Lord<sup>azwj</sup> Loves ‘السَّخَاءَ’ the generosity?’ So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Yes’. So he said, ‘I hereby testify that there is no god except for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> and you<sup>saww</sup> are Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>; and by the One<sup>azwj</sup> Who Sent you<sup>saww</sup> with the Truth, I shall not be repelling anyone from my wealth’.
