John Shaqi

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَا مَحَقَ الْإِسْلَامَ مَحْقَ الشُّحِّ شَيْ‏ءٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ لِهَذَا الشُّحِّ دَبِيباً كَدَبِيبِ النَّمْلِ وَ شُعَباً كَشُعَبِ الشِّرَكِ وَ فِي نُسْخَةٍ أُخْرَى الشَّوْكِ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Haroun Bin Muslim, from Mas’ada Bin Sadaqa, (It has been narrated) from Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, from his<sup>asws</sup> father<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘There is nothing which obliterates (destroys) Al-Islam (more) than its destruction by the greedy one’. Then he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘For this greed is a crawl like the crawling of an ant, and a branch like the branch of Polytheism’. And in another copy, ‘Thorn’.
