John Shaqi

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) لَيْسَ الْبَخِيلُ مَنْ أَدَّى الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ مِنْ مَالِهِ وَ أَعْطَى الْبَائِنَةَ فِي قَوْمِهِ إِنَّمَا الْبَخِيلُ حَقُّ الْبَخِيلِ مَنْ لَمْ يُؤَدِّ الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ مِنْ مَالِهِ وَ لَمْ يُعْطِ الْبَائِنَةَ فِي قَوْمِهِ وَ هُوَ يُبَذِّرُ فِيمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Al Mugheira, from Al Mufazzal Bin Salih, from Jabir, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘He is not the miser, the one who pays the Obligatory Zakat from his wealth, and gives the gifts among his people. But rather, the miser, the real miser is the one who does not pay the Obligatory Zakat from his wealth, and does not give the gifts among his people, and he squanders (misuses) in what is besides that’.
