مَنْ سَقَى الْمَاءَ فِي مَوْضِعٍ يُوجَدُ فِيهِ الْمَاءُ كَانَ كَمَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً وَ مَنْ سَقَى الْمَاءَ فِي مَوْضِعٍ لَا يُوجَدُ فِيهِ الْمَاءُ كَانَ كَمَنْ أَحْيَا نَفْساً وَ مَنْ أَحْيَا نَفْساً فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعاً .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Muawiya Bin Ammar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The one who quenches with the water in a place wherein the water is to be found would be like the one who emancipates (liberates) a neck; and the one who quenches with the water in a place wherein the water is not to be found would be like the one who revives a soul, and the one who revives a soul, so rather it is as if he has revived (all) people altogether’.
