قَالَ إِنَّمَا يُصَامُ يَوْمُ الْأَرْبِعَاءِ لِأَنَّهُ لَمْ تُعَذَّبْ أُمَّةٌ فِيمَا مَضَى إِلَّا فِي يَوْمِ الْأَرْبِعَاءِ وَسَطِ الشَّهْرِ فَيُسْتَحَبُّ أَنْ يُصَامَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Muhammad Bin Isa Bin Ubeyd, from Yunus, from Is’haq Bin Ammar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘But rather, one should Fast the day of Wednesday, because no past community has been Punished except during the day of Wednesday in the middle of the month. Thus, it is recommended that one Fasts that day’.
