Translation
Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin ShAzan, and Ahmad Bin Idrees, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, altogether from Safwan Bin yahya, from Ibn Muskan, from Abu Baseer, (It has been narrated) from one of the two (5th or 6th Imamasws) regarding the Words of Allahazwj the Exalted <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h187"><a href="/books/quran:2#h187">[2:187]</a></a> It is made lawful to you to go to your wives on the night of the Fast</span> – the Verse. Heasws said: ‘It was Revealed regarding Khawwat Bin Jubeyr Al-Ansary, and he was with the Prophetsaww during the (battle of) Khandaq, and he was Fasting. So evening came and he was upon that state, and it was such that before the Revelation of this Verse, whenever one of them fell asleep, the food and drink was Prohibited upon him. So Khawwat went over to his family when it was evening, so he said, ‘Is there anything (to eat) with you?’ So they said, ‘No, do not sleep until we prepare the food for you’. So he reclined and fell asleep. So they said to him, you have done it (fell asleep)?’ He said, ‘Yes’. So he spent the night upon that state (hungry and thirsty). So, in the morning, he went over to the ditch, and fainting overcame him. So, Rasool-Allahsaww passed by him. So when hesaww saw that which was with him, he informed him of how his matter was. So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Sent down the Verse regarding him <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h187"><a href="/books/quran:2#h187">[2:187]</a></a> and eat and drink until the white thread becomes distinct from the black thread at Dawn</span>’.
