سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَمُوتُ وَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مَنْ يَقْضِي عَنْهُ قَالَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ قُلْتُ وَ إِنْ كَانَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ امْرَأَةً قَالَ لَا إِلَّا الرِّجَالُ .
Translation
Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Ali AL Washa, from Hammad Bin Usman, from the one who mentioned it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the man who dies and upon him are debts from a Month of Ramazan. Who should make up for these on his behalf?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The closest of the people to him’. I said, ‘And if it was such that the closest of the people to him was a woman?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No, except the men’.
