قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) الرَّجُلُ لَا يَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ إِلَّا مَا يُؤَدِّي عَنْ نَفْسِهِ وَحْدَهَا يُعْطِيهِ غَرِيباً أَوْ يَأْكُلُ هُوَ وَ عِيَالُهُ قَالَ يُعْطِي بَعْضَ عِيَالِهِ ثُمَّ يُعْطِي الْآخَرُ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ يُرَدِّدُونَهَا فَيَكُونُ عَنْهُمْ جَمِيعاً فِطْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Abdullah Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Halam, from Dawood Bin Al Nu’man, and Sayf Bin Ameyra, from Is’haq Bin Ammar who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The man does not happen to have anything from the Fitra with him except what he can pay for himself alone. Should he give it to a stranger should him and his dependents eat it?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He should give it to one of his dependents. Then the other one should give it from himself in turn. Thus it would happen to be on all their behalf together, one Fitra’.
