سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ الضَّيْفُ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ فَيَحْضُرُ يَوْمُ الْفِطْرِ يُؤَدِّي عَنْهُ الْفِطْرَةَ قَالَ نَعَمْ الْفِطْرَةُ وَاجِبَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ يَعُولُ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى صَغِيرٍ أَوْ كَبِيرٍ حُرٍّ أَوْ مَمْلُوكٍ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Saheyl Bin Ziyad, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Umar Bin Yazeed who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the man who happens to have the guest from his brethren with him. So the day of the Fitra presents itself. Does he have to pay the Fitra on his behalf?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes. The Fitra is Obligatory upon everyone who has dependents, from the male, or female, or young, or old, be they free or slaves’.
