لَا يَكُونُ الِاعْتِكَافُ أَقَلَّ مِنْ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ وَ مَنِ اعْتَكَفَ صَامَ وَ يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُعْتَكِفِ إِذَا اعْتَكَفَ أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ كَمَا يَشْتَرِطُ الَّذِي يُحْرِمُ .
Translation
Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Abu Ayoub, from Abu Baseer, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The <span class="iTxt">Itikaaf</span> does not take place in less than three days, and the one who performs <span class="iTxt">Itikaaf</span> should Fast; and it is befitting for the one performing <span class="iTxt">Itikaaf</span> that when he does perform <span class="iTxt">Itikaaf</span>, he should stipulate just as the one who wears an <span class="iTxt">Ihraam</span> stipulates’ (if its for Umra or Hajj).
