سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الْمَمَرِّ فِي مُؤَخَّرِ مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) وَ لَا أُسَلِّمُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالَ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ فَيَدْخُلُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَيُسَلِّمُ مِنْ بَعِيدٍ لَا يَدْنُو مِنَ الْقَبْرِ فَقَالَ لَا قَالَ سَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِ حِينَ تَدْخُلُ وَ حِينَ تَخْرُجُ وَ مِنْ بَعِيدٍ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Safwan Bin Yahya who said, ‘I asked Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> about the passing by at the end of the Masjid of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> and not greeting upon the Prophet<sup>saww</sup>. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> did not happen to do that’. I said, ‘So he<sup>asws</sup> would enter the Masjid, and he<sup>asws</sup> would greet from afar, not approaching the grave?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No, (but) He<sup>asws</sup> said greetings upon him<sup>saww</sup> while entering and when exiting, and from afar’.
