خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا مِنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) بِالْبَصْرَةِ أَلْوَاحٌ مَكْتُوبٌ فِيهَا بِالْعَرْضِ عَهْدِي إِلَى أَكْبَرِ وُلْدِي يُعْطَى فُلَانٌ كَذَا وَ فُلَانٌ كَذَا وَ فُلَانٌ كَذَا وَ فُلَانٌ لَا يُعْطَى حَتَّى أَجِيءَ أَوْ يَقْضِيَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيَّ الْمَوْتَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ .

ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے، احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے علی بن الحکم سے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن المغیرہ سے، انہوں نے حسین بن المختار سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے کہا: ابوالحسن علیہ السلام کی طرف سے بصرہ میں ہمارے پاس تختیاں آئیں، اور ان میں لکھا ہوا تھا: “میرا عہد میرے بڑے بیٹے کے لیے ہے: فلاں کو اتنا دیا جائے، اور فلاں کو اتنا، اور فلاں کو اتنا؛ اور فلاں کو اس وقت تک نہ دیا جائے جب تک میں نہ آ جاؤں، یا اللہ عز و جل مجھ پر موت کا فیصلہ نہ فرما دے۔” بے شک اللہ وہی کرتا ہے جو وہ چاہتا ہے۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Abdullah Bin Al Mugheira, from Al Husayn Bin Al Mukhtar who said, ‘The tablets (written parchments) came out to us from Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> at Al-Basra wherein it was written width-wise: ‘My<sup>asws</sup> Covenant is to my<sup>asws</sup> eldest son<sup>asws</sup> that he<sup>asws</sup> should give to so and so, such, and to so and so, such, and to so and so he<sup>asws</sup> should not give until I<sup>asws</sup> come or Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Ordains the death upon me<sup>asws</sup>. Surely, Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Does whatever He<sup>azwj</sup> so Desires to’.
