قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَظْلِمَتِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَبَا مَرْيَمَ هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا دُونَ مَظْلِمَتِهِ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ الرَّجُلُ يُقْتَلُ دُونَ أَهْلِهِ وَ دُونَ مَالِهِ وَ أَشْبَاهِ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا مَرْيَمَ إِنَّ مِنَ الْفِقْهِ عِرْفَانَ الْحَقِّ
Translation
And by this chain, from Abu Maryam, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘The one being killed facing his attacker, so he is a martyr’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O Abu Maryam! Do you know what is ‘facing oppression’?’ I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you<sup>asws</sup>! The man who is killed instead of his family, and instead of his wealth and like that’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said:’ O Abu Maryam! It is from the jurisprudence, recognition of the truth’.
