سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ مَجْدُورٍ أَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ فَغَسَّلُوهُ فَمَاتَ قَالَ قَتَلُوهُ أَلَّا سَأَلُوا فَإِنَّ دَوَاءَ الْعِيِّ السُّؤَالُ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے ہمارے بعض اصحاب سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ: میں نے آپ سے ایک ایسے چیچک کے مریض کے بارے میں پوچھا جسے جنابت لاحق ہوئی، تو انہوں نے اسے غسل دیا اور وہ مر گیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: "انہوں نے اسے قتل کیا۔ کیوں نہ سوال کیا؟ بے شک جہالت کا علاج سوال کرنا ہے۔"
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from one of our companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the one with smallpox stained by the sexual impurity, so they washed him, and he died. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘They killed him. Why did they not ask, for a cure for the incompetence, it is the asking’.
