John Shaqi

قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَ مَا تَغْشَى سُلْطَانَ هَؤُلَاءِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ وَ لِمَ قُلْتُ فِرَاراً بِدِينِي قَالَ فَعَزَمْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ لِي الْآنَ سَلِمَ لَكَ دِينُكَ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hisham Bin Salim, from Jahm Bin Humeyd who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said to me: ‘Do you not take protection of their Sultan (ruling authorities)?’ I said, ‘No’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And why (not)?’ I said, ‘My Religion would flee from me’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘So are you determined upon that?’ I said, ‘Yes’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said to me: ‘Now, your Religion is safe for you’.
