سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَصَاحِفِ وَ شِرَائِهَا فَقَالَ لَا تَشْتَرِ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ لَكِنِ اشْتَرِ الْحَدِيدَ وَ الْوَرَقَ وَ الدَّفَّتَيْنِ وَ قُلْ أَشْتَرِي مِنْكَ هَذَا بِكَذَا وَ كَذَا .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Usman Bin Isa, from Sama’at, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about selling of the Parchments (copies of the Holy Quran) and buying them, so he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Do not buy the Book of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic, but buy the iron (ink pigment), and the paper, and the two covers, and say, ‘I am buying this from you for such and such (an amount)’.
