John Shaqi

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) لَا تَلَقَّ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) نَهَى عَنِ التَّلَقِّي قُلْتُ وَ مَا حَدُّ التَّلَقِّي قَالَ مَا دُونَ غَدْوَةٍ أَوْ رَوْحَةٍ قُلْتُ وَ كَمِ الْغَدْوَةُ وَ الرَّوْحَةُ قَالَ أَرْبَعُ فَرَاسِخَ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ وَ مَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ فَلَيْسَ بِتَلَقٍّ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Abdul Rahman Bin Al Hajjaj, from Minhal Al Qassab who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Do not receive trade outside the city, for Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> forbade from the receiving of trade outside the city’. I said, ‘And what is the limit of the receiving the trade outside the city?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘What is less than one <span class="iTxt">Gadwa</span> or a <span class="iTxt">Rawha</span>’. I said, ‘And how much is the <span class="iTxt">Gadwa</span> and the <span class="iTxt">Rawha</span>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Four Farsakhs (about six miles)’. Ibn Abu Umeyr (the narrator) said, ‘And what is above that, so it is not (classified as) receiving the trade outside the city’.
