John Shaqi

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) رَجُلٌ يُعَيَّنُ ثُمَّ حَلَّ دَيْنُهُ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ مَا يَقْضِي أَ يَتَعَيَّنُ مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ الَّذِي عَيَّنَهُ وَ يَقْضِيهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ .


Translation

Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Sayf Bin Umeyra, from Abu Bakr Al Hazramy who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘A man contracted a buy-back deal (يُعَيَّنُ), then his debt was due, but he could not find what he could fulfil it with, can he do (another) buy-back from his companion whom he had contracted the (first) buy-back with, and fulfil it (the first deal)?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes’.
