John Shaqi

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَدْخُلُ السُّوقَ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشْتَرِيَ جَارِيَةً فَتَقُولُ لِي إِنِّي حُرَّةٌ فَقَالَ اشْتَرِهَا إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ لَهَا بَيِّنَةٌ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Jameel Bin Darraj, from Hamza Bin Humran who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘I entered a market intending to buy a slave girl, so she was saying to me, ‘I am free’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Buy her except if there happens to be a proof for her’.
