عثمان بن عیسی نے ہم سے روایت کی، خالد بن نجیح سے، زرارہ بن اعین سے، جنہوں نے کہا: ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: “اس لڑکے کے لیے لازماً غیبت ہوگی۔” میں نے کہا: “اور کیوں؟” انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: “وہ خوف کرے گا،” اور آپ نے اپنے ہاتھ سے اپنے پیٹ کی طرف اشارہ کیا۔ “اور وہ المنتظر ہے، اور وہی ہے جس کی ولادت کے بارے میں لوگ شک کریں گے۔ پس ان میں سے کچھ کہیں گے: ‘حمل ہے’; اور ان میں سے کچھ کہیں گے: ‘اس کے والد وفات پا گئے اور کوئی جانشین نہ چھوڑا’; اور ان میں سے کچھ کہیں گے: ‘وہ اپنے والد کی وفات سے دو سال پہلے پیدا ہوا تھا۔’” زرارہ نے کہا: پھر میں نے کہا: “اگر میں اس زمانے کو پا لوں تو آپ مجھے کیا حکم دیتے ہیں؟” انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: “اللہ سے اس دعا کے ساتھ دعا کرو:” اے اللہ! مجھے اپنا تعارف کرا دے، کیونکہ اگر تو مجھے اپنا تعارف نہ کرائے تو میں تجھے نہیں پہچانوں گا۔ اے اللہ! مجھے اپنے نبی کا تعارف کرا دے، کیونکہ اگر تو مجھے اپنے نبی کا تعارف نہ کرائے تو میں کبھی اسے نہیں پہچانوں گا۔ اے اللہ! مجھے اپنی حجت کا تعارف کرا دے، کیونکہ اگر تو مجھے اپنی حجت کا تعارف نہ کرائے تو میں اپنے دین سے گمراہ ہو جاؤں گا۔ احمد بن الہلال نے کہا: “میں نے یہ حدیث چھپن سال پہلے سنی تھی۔”

Translation

Al Husayn Bin Ahmad, from Ahmad Bin Hilal who said, ‘Usman Bin Isa narrated to us, from Khalid Bin Najeeh, from Zurara Bin Ayn who said, ‘Abu Abdullah^asws said: ‘An Occultation is inevitable for the boy’. I said, ‘And why (is that so)?’ He^asws said: ‘He^asws would fear’, and he^asws gestured by his^asws hand towards his^asws belly, ‘and he^asws is the awaited, and he^asws is the one the people would doubt regarding his^asws birth. So, from them would be one who would be saying, ‘He^asws was borne’; and from them would be one who would be saying, ‘His^asws father^asws passed away and did not leave a replacement (Imam^asws)’; and from them would be one who would be saying, ‘He^asws was born two years before his^asws father^asws passed away’’. Zurara said, ‘So I said, ‘And what would you^asws instruct me with if I were to come across that time period?’ He^asws said: ‘Supplicate to Allah^azwj with this supplication, ‘O Allah^azwj! Acquaint Yourself^azwj to me, for if You^azwj do not Acquaint Yourself^saww to me, I will not (be able to) recognise You^azwj. O Allah^azwj! Acquaint me with Your^azwj Rasool^saww, for if You^azwj do not Acquaint me with Your^azwj Rasool^saww, I would not recognise Your^azwj Divine Authority. O Allah^azwj! Acquaint me with Your^azwj Divine Authority, for it You^azwj do not Acquaint me with Your^azwj Divine Authority, I would stray from my Religion’’. Ahmad Bin Hilal (the narrator) said, ‘I heard this Hadeeth fifty six years ago’.
