John Shaqi

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ أَ يَصْلُحُ لِي أَنْ أُوَاقِعَهَا وَ لَمْ أَنْقُدْهَا مِنْ مَهْرِهَا شَيْئاً قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ دَيْنٌ عَلَيْكَ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Mansour Bin Yunus, from Abdul Hameed Bin Awwaz who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘I marry the woman, would it be correct for me that I fall upon her and I have not given her anything from her dower?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes. But rather, it is a debt upon you’.
