سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ لَوْ لَا مَا سَبَقَنِي بِهِ بَنِي الْخَطَّابِ مَا زَنَى إِلَّا شَقِيٌّ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazaan, from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Ibn Muskan, from Abdullah Bin Suleyman who said, ‘I heard Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘Ali<sup>asws</sup> was saying: ‘Had the son of Khattab (Umar) not preceded me<sup>asws</sup> (in the Caliphate), none would have commited adultery except for a wretch’.
